Life inThe Dying Place is a powerful and dark song rooted in the traditions of hardcore industrial bringing hard beats and engulfing synths. A dancefloor banger with something to say, as Furnace Records has been known for since 1992.

This is a track I’ve been meaning to write for a while. Religious exterminations and persecutions have been going on for centuries and are always wrong. The recent and ongoing cultural genocide of Uyghur people in Xinjiang gave me a new focus to speak out about.

Over the last couple of years the Chinese government have been attacking the, larely Muslim, traditional culture of Uyghur population in the Xinjiang area. There have been campaigns of forced sterilisation, heavy surveillance based on spurious claims, “re-education” camps with survivors reporting atrocities. For some reason, i speak to the majority of people in day to day life and they’re oblivious to the fact that this is happening. There’s a biblical proverb that says “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.” That’s what this track is trying to do.
